DG One Leisure Centre

DG One (DG1) is a fully accessible, family friendly building run by the Dumfries and Galloway Council. Due to the expensive and well-thought out design, when live events are on using the main venue, 4 of the parent and child parking spaces are out of use as they are in front of the access door.

DG One opened in May 2008 and is a venue for live music, comedy, theatre, exhibitions and sporting events in Dumfries.

In 2012 it is an established venue in the town and a regular parking area for many visitors to the Council headquarters on English Street across from DG One.

There are three swimming pool areas: a water play area with flumes, a training pool with an adjustable floor, and a swimming pool of unusual length (somewhere over 25 metres but not as big as an Olympic-size pool, so the local swimming clubs have to adjust their training sessions accordingly.)

There is a fitness suite, sauna, steam room and spa pool, a sports hall, conference and meeting facilities, and a cafe and bar.
